Emergency workers will simulate the release of a hazardous chemical on a train in a practice exercise in Southwest Baltimore this morning, according to city officials. First responders will practice containing a chemical and extricating a person from a locomotive in a training exercise that is slated to begin about 9 a.m. on the tracks near Washington Boulevard and De Soto Road, officials said. The exercise is part of an emergency preparedness and prevention conference for workers that is taking place in Baltimore this week.
