Line: N.C. State by 6 1/2

Series: Maryland leads 31-30-4.

Last meeting: Maryland won, 27-24, on Oct. 25, 2008, in College Park.

Maryland offense vs. N.C. State defense: Maryland has won seven of the past nine games in the series and will look to exploit the Wolfpack defense. The injury-hampered defense has surrendered more than 1,500 yards and an average of 48 points in its past three games, all losses. The defense is led by DE Willie Young (seven sacks, 10 tackles for loss). Maryland is again expected to play speedy freshman Caleb Porzel along with sophomore Davin Meggett at running back. RB Gary Douglas, coming off a shoulder injury, is also expected to be available. The Terps have combined for just 22 points in their past two games, both in the rain.

Maryland defense vs. N.C. State offense: Maryland, which has encountered a couple of other hot quarterbacks this season (Wake Forest?s Riley Skinner, Duke?s Thaddeus Lewis) face one again in the Wolfpack?s Russell Wilson. Wilson threw for 349 yards and five touchdowns (with two interceptions) in a 45-42 loss to Florida State last week despite losing OL R.J. Mattes (knee) for the season. Senior RB Toney Baker had 112 yards against the Seminoles. The mobile Wilson will pose a challenge to Maryland?s blitzing defense. The Terps forced a season-high three turnovers in a loss to Duke. LB Alex Wujciak leads the conference with 11 tackles per game and LB Ben Pooler has a sack in each of the past three games.
