After some confusion as to which team won the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference cross country title Thursday night, league officials confirmed Friday that St. Paul's is the champion.

St. Mary's was originally listed as the winner in results that were printed out and distributed to the news media after the race at Oregon Ridge Park. However, a mix-up as to how the points were tabulated was discovered later, and it was determined that St. Paul's was the rightful winner.

St. Paul's was presented with the trophy during a post-race ceremony Thursday night.

"There was some confusion [Thursday] night and [Friday] morning," St. Mary's coach Jon Line said. "There was some hope that we had won, but I didn't find out what was going on [for sure] until my AD clarified it [Friday] morning."
