Because of his work, the couple lived in Stamford, Conn., before settling in Upper Marlboro.

Mrs. Walcutt enjoyed painting in oils and was also a quilter.

"She was a collector of blue and white china that she purchased on annual Christmas shopping trips she and her husband made to various Pacific Rim countries," said her stepdaughter, Diana Lee Walcutt, a Towson psychologist.

"She was also proud of the fact that she had visited all 50 states and their capitals," Dr. Walcutt said.

Private services will be held at the Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, Prince George's County.

Also surviving are a daughter, Vicki Lynn Goodnough of Waldorf; a stepson, Charles C. Walcutt Jr. of Lutherville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandsons. Her son, Don Wayne Goodnough Jr., died in 2006. An earlier marriage to Don Wayne Goodnough Sr. ended in divorce.
