Five men were shot in three separate incidents over a four-hour span late Wednesday and into early Thursday on Baltimore's west and east sides, according to police.
None of the shootings was fatal.
Officers patrolling the 2300 block of Presbury St. in West Baltimore about 10:25 p.m. Wednesday asked a group of men standing on a corner to move, and a short time later, as the men were walking toward Baker Street, a man shot two people, police said. An 18-year-old found in the 1600 block of Moreland Ave. suffered a gunshot wound to his right leg and was taken by paramedics to an area hospital, where police said he was in critical condition.
The other victim, a 25-year-old man, was shot in the lower torso and went to a hospital on his own, police said. His condition was unknown.
The second shooting was reported to police about a minute later. Two men - a 29-year-old and a 31-year-old - walking in the 2100 block of Homewood Ave. in East Baltimore were shot by an unknown number of suspects, police said. The victims were found in the vestibule of a house in the same block and taken to an area hospital.
In the third incident, reported about 2:10 a.m. Thursday, a 38-year-old man was shot several times in the upper body in the 2800 block of Clifton Ave. in West Baltimore, police said. The man was taken by paramedics to an area hospital, where he was in critical condition. Police said the victim was ambushed by someone who broke into his home.
No arrests have been made in any of the shootings.
