Champs Sports Bowl to get better choice of ACC teams
The Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando will have the third overall pick of Atlantic Coast Conference teams for the 2010 to 2013 games under an agreement announced Wednesday by the ACC and Florida Citrus Sports. Under the partnership, the bowl will get the ACC's second pick after the Bowl Championship Series selection; that team will play the top non-BCS team from the Big East Conference or Notre Dame. In its current cycle, the Champs Sports Bowl selects the ACC's fourth pick and the Big Ten's fourth or fifth pick, based on the year. The game will continue to be televised by ESPN and will be played in the Dec. 28-30 window, with the possibility of a Dec. 27 date once in the agreement's four-year term.
