Mitchell's former home fails to sell at auction
4
The seller of Rep. Parren J. Mitchell's former home in West Baltimore rejected a high bid of $295,000 at an auction Wednesday morning. About 25 people gathered in front of the residence's marble steps as bidding began at $150,000 for the six-bedroom 19th-century house. But auctioneer Bill Fox said the final offer was "not acceptable to the seller." Afterward, he said that there were four "interested parties" and that he had hopes for a negotiated sale of the property "in the next several weeks."
