William E. Proudford Sickle Cell Fund

With a James Bond party theme, it was no wonder the Hyatt Regency ballroom looked like a movie set. The room was swagged in white chiffon, with clusters of white couches and cube tables along the sides. Red velvet ropes cordoned off the back third of the room, which was elevated for the VIP section.

"There's a bottle of vodka on every table here," said real estate developer Patrick Turner, noting the VIP bottle service.

No set would be complete without its stars. And there were plenty, thanks to host Baltimore Ravens player Terrell Suggs. The bash was part of his 2009 Team Sizzle Celebrity Weekend that benefited the William E. Proudford Sickle Cell Fund. Party attendees included actress Jazsmin Lewis, singer LeToya Luckett, T-Boz and Chilli of R&B group TLC, film director John Singleton and comedian Tony Rock. Many of Suggs' teammates - including Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Willis McGahee and Brendon Ayanbadejo - huddled in one corner. There was so much star power that you could spot celebrities taking pictures of other celebrities.

"I love Idris Elba," said Mrs. Maryland Galaxy 2009 LaQuisha Hall as she snapped a photo of "The Wire" star.

"It's really nice to see something like this here," said Niole Russell, Robot Films executive producer.

"I'm pretty much in L.A. now," said music video director (and Baltimore native) Chris Robinson. "But, to come home and see Baltimore this classy; it's dope."

Film director Robert Townsend attributed the party's turnout to the man behind it, Terrell Suggs.

"It's a cause that supports the African-American community, and he's doing it right. He's a beautiful man with a great spirit."
