Arm Rest: O's Right To Shut Matusz Down

September 19, 2009|By Peter Schmuck

My take: : I thought it was great. Jordan went into the Hall just like he went to the hoop. If that's too much for you, you had best get out of the way.

News item: : The New England Patriots remain No. 2 in ESPN's NFL power rankings, even though they would have lost to the No. 21 Bills at home if not for a late fumble.

Your take: : So, what are you saying, that the people at ESPN constantly display a New England bias?

My take: : No, I'm saying they must be using the BCS ranking system.

News item: : Wrestler Ric Flair, 60, reportedly has signed a multiyear contract to wrestle Hulk Hogan in a series of international matches.

My take: : I'm not surprised Flair still wants to wrestle, but I am surprised anybody would still pay to see him do it.

Bonus take: : Frankly, I think Mickey Rourke would have been a better choice at this point.

News item: : In the feel-good story of the week, Vince Young surprised the two young sons of late Ravens quarterback Steve McNair and took them to their school's "Dear Dads Breakfast."

My take: : It's such a classy, heartwarming gesture that I'm going to forgive Vince for beating USC in the 2006 BCS championship game.
