Gloves, Masks, Gun Recovered In Arrests Of Four

By Justin Fenton|September 19, 2009

Four people were arrested Thursday night after police found them sitting in a vehicle with a loaded shotgun, a set of handcuffs, surgical gloves and masks.

"We believe we thwarted the commission of a heinous crime, but we're trying to figure out what that [crime] was," said city police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.

Northeast District officers were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle in the 6200 block of Tramore Road about 7:40 p.m. and found a tan Mercury parked and occupied by four people, Guglielmi said.

The responding officers could see that the rear passenger had surgical latex gloves on and observed the handle of a shotgun on the rear floor of the vehicle.

Inside, police found a 12-gauge shotgun loaded with six shells, a set of black handcuffs, a black mask and six blue surgical latex gloves. They also located a potato chip bag containing 18 gel caps of suspected heroin, Guglielmi said.

Police arrested four people and charged them with drug and weapon charges. Guglielmi identified the four as: Andre Wilson, 23, of the 3400 block of Erdman Ave.; Eric Day, 28, of the 4200 block of Seidel Ave.; Kevin McCallum, 22, of the 4800 block of White Ave.; and Tamira High, 19, of the 3200 block of Chesterfield Ave. in Parkville.

The area has seen violence in recent weeks. Last week, less than a mile away from where the four were arrested, 20-year-old Trenton Marshall was shot and killed as he rode on a bicycle. Detectives have charged 18-year-old Darrell Lisbon in that shooting.
