A 20-year-old Rosedale man was shot in the head while sitting on a bicycle near a bus stop on Northern Parkway in Northeast Baltimore, one of two fatal shootings Friday, a city police spokesman said.

Police Agent Donny Moses said the man, Trenton Marshall of the 2200 block of Bluegrass Heights Court, was transported by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities said the area where the shooting occurred, near McClean Boulevard and the Hamilton Shopping Center, was packed with students and others rushing to nearby shops or to a covered bus stop to escape a driving rainstorm. The shooting occurred steps from the bus stop near a wooden wall at the edge of a parking lot for an Eagle gas station and convenience store.

Moses said detectives took several people to police headquarters to be interviewed as possible witnesses and that the homicide unit is investigating.

The shooting occurred about 3:45 p.m. on the south side of East Northern Parkway. Moses said at least one gunman walked up to the victim and "without warning" shot him in the head. The bicycle was lying on its right side on the sidewalk a few feet from a pay phone.

About 2 a.m., police were called to the 3200 block of Belair Road and found an unidentified 30-year-old man on a sidewalk suffering from several gunshot wounds to the torso. He was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:23 a.m. Moses said shell casings were found in a rear alley and several potential witnesses were interviewed.
