Anna Demaree : River Hill, junior
A standout in track the past two years, Demaree was somewhat overshadowed by teammate Katie Harman. With Harman having graduated, this should be Demaree's time to shine.
Madeline Dulac : McDonogh, junior
She has become one of the area's top performers in cross country and track. Dulac took third in the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland championship last fall and later played a big role in the Eagles' success in track.
Hillary Lee : South River, senior
Lee won Anne Arundel County and regional titles impressively to help the Seahawks take the team crowns in both. She then finished 13th in the Class 4A state meet.
Maura Linde : Century, junior
Linde has been one of the best runners in the state the past two years. She was slowed by injuries last year but still is perhaps the top returning runner in the area.
Chris Patrick : Severna Park, junior
Patrick was the Falcons' top runner last year and finished sixth in Anne Arundel County. She later took fourth in the 3,200 indoors.
Shannon Rafferty : C. Milton Wright, senior
Rafferty anchored a balanced Mustangs team that won the Class 4A state title last year. C.M. Wright isn't as deep this year, so the Mustangs will need another strong season from Rafferty.
Elizabeth Tauber : John Carroll, junior
Tauber was clearly the IAAM's top runner last fall as a sophomore. She'll anchor an improved Patriots team this fall.
Emily Vandewater : Hereford, sophomore
Vandewater was a big part of an improving Bulls program last year as a freshman, as she ran well in the big races.
Becky Yep : Mount Hebron, senior
She beat Century's Maura Linde last year, which was a big confidence booster. Yep later took second in the Howard County, regional and the Class 2A state meets.
