Man arrested in carjacking of woman in Savage Friday
A 27-year-old Savage man was being held without bond at the Howard County Detention Center on charges he attacked a woman with a knife and stole her wallet and sport utility vehicle only a few blocks from his home Friday evening. Joseph Charles Taub of the 8500 block Storch Woods Drive was arrested Sunday in connection with a theft investigation in Bowie, in Prince George's County. Police said Taub was driving a 2009 Toyota RAV-4 stolen from Sui Men, 30, at knifepoint as she got out of the vehicle Friday near her Savage apartment. About 6 p.m. that day, Men reported to Howard County police that a man approached her at River Island Apartments, displayed a knife and demanded her valuables and keys. She refused and fought with him, suffering a cut on her hand. The charges against Taub include armed carjacking, armed robbery, first- and second-degree assault and theft.

Baltimore Co. man indicted in money laundering scheme
A 42-year-old Baltimore County man was indicted by a Pennsylvania grand jury last week for money laundering, mail fraud and other charges stemming from allegations that he and another man defrauded a Fortune 500 company out of $2.6 million over a three-year period, according to federal prosecutors. The indictment alleges that David B. Bossi of Phoenix swindled the Adecco Group through a consulting fee kickback scheme. In 2006, Bossi, a vice president of Ajilon Consulting, served as a project manager for Adecco, which was seeking to move its data centers, according to the indictment. Bossi signed and validated invoices and forwarded them to other Adecco personnel for processing, federal prosecutors said. For the Adecco consolidation project, Bossi retained Donald J. Cochran, the co-defendant in the case, as a consultant. Money that Bossi approved was deposited into checking accounts that Cochran controlled, prosecutors said. Cochran then gave more than $300,000 to Bossi, according to federal prosecutors. Both defendants were scheduled to appear before a federal magistrate Monday in Harrisburg, Pa.
