My Best Shot

I live in Parkton and traveled to New England in July. Proving that you don't have to spend a ton of money to have a wonderful vacation, I spent $120 for round trip airfare and had a great week hiking and eating my way across Vermont. I was lucky to arrive in Burlington during their international arts festival featuring two weeks of events including music, food, arts and crafts. I was also happily surprised to find Vermont such a gourmet treat, with proud private producers of quality fare ranging from hand-made chocolates to great breads, cheeses and wines; I found some almond-cinnamon nut butter at the farmers market that I could've lived on all week! The hiking is also superb - any level you want, with too many mountains, rivers and waterfalls nearby to see them all. This picture was taken at sunset, overlooking Lake Champlain as Buddy Guy played on the main stage facing the water.
