Wine Find

August 19, 2009|By Michael Dresser

This Gallo-owned property is emerging as a reliable source of fine wines - red and white. The Central Coast red wine has all the earmarks of a pinot noir made from cool-climate vineyards, with its penetrating flavors and well-focused acidity. The fruit, dominated by flavors of black cherry, is substantial but not overripe or heavy. It's ready to drink now but should hold up for at least three years.
