REVIEWING THE RECEIVERS: : Derrick Mason was his usual reliable self, catching most of the short and intermediate passes thrown his way. Demetrius Williams leaped high to catch a pass from Joe Flacco over cornerback Chris Carr, and Justin Harper hauled in a perfectly thrown 30-yard touchdown pass from Troy Smith.

CATCH OF THE DAY: : During a one-on-one passing drill in the red zone, running back Ray Rice drew a thunderous round of applause when he spun around, leaped into the air to catch a pass from Smith on his right shoulder and held on as he fell to the turf in the end zone.

QUID PRO QUO: : Moments after Rice's play, cornerback Domonique Foxworth intercepted Smith's pass to wide receiver Jayson Foster. But when no applause was forthcoming, Foxworth turned and appealed to the fans, who finally obliged.

GETTING A LEG UP: : Kicker Steve Hauschka was given the day off. Rookie Graham Gano went 6-for-6 on field-goal attempts, including tries from 45 and 53 yards.

HIGH-FIVE FROM HARBAUGH: : After defensive end Trevor Pryce and linebacker Jarret Johnson pressured Smith into throwing the ball away, Pryce sought a high-five from coach John Harbaugh, who was standing about 10 yards behind Smith. Harbaugh, laughing, complied.

FOURTH-DOWN EFFICIENCY: : The offense went 3-for-3 on fourth-and-goal situations from the 1-yard line. Running backs Rice, Willis McGahee and rookie Cedric Peerman scored.
