Camp highlights

REVIEWING THE RECEIVERS: : Derrick Mason's return was the big news of the morning, and he made a nice sliding catch of a pass from Joe Flacco on a post route. Demetrius Williams, Justin Harper and Kelley Washington made a few grabs, but they were of the shorter variety.

HIT OF THE DAY: : During a one-on-one blocking drill, linebacker Antwan Barnes trucked rookie tight end Davon Drew, and linebacker Prescott Burgess did the same thing to rookie running back Cedric Peerman. Burgess also walloped tight end Edgar Jones after he caught a pass in the right flat.

PASSING THE BUCK: : Flacco was intercepted twice again - once by free safety Haruki Nakamura (above) during a red-zone drill and another by rookie K.J. Gerard. Troy Smith's alley-oop to Harper in the left corner of the end zone was picked off by rookie cornerback Lardarius Webb, and Smith and rookie center Robby Felix fumbled a snap on fourth-and-1.

GETTING A LEG UP: : Kicker Steven Hauschka converted all five of his field-goal attempts. Rookie Graham Gano (above) was perfect until he slid the ball wide right from 51 yards. But he connected from the same distance when special teams coordinator Jerry Rosburg gave him a reprieve.

EXUBERANCE ON DISPLAY: : After Frank Walker made a nice open-field tackle of Harper in the right flat, Walker was greeted by secondary coach Chuck Pagano, who seemed to give the cornerback a chest bump.

OVERHEARD: : "No way! No way!" - Linebacker Jameel McClain to any offensive player within earshot after McClain stopped running back Jalen Parmele at the line of scrimmage during a rushing exercise.
