Karen Michele Putnam, daughter of Timothy R. and Mary Ruth Putnam of Sykesville, Maryland and Eric Michael Lubitz, son of Shelly K. Burns of Finksburg, Maryland and the late Larry H. Lubitz were married at The Best Western Westminster Catering and Conference Center in Westminster, Maryland on September 20, 2008. The groom is also the stepson of Michael P. Burns of Finksburg, Maryland and the grandson of Martha Kirson of Pikesville, Maryland. The blended ceremony was jointly performed by Rev. Dr. Judy Powell and Cantor Alvin Donald. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Matron of honor was Allison Boden of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania, sister of the groom. The bridesmaids were Renee Villard and Carrie Meyd, both friends of the bride from Sykesville, Maryland. The flower girl was Jaime Boden of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania, niece of the groom. Best man was Ken Boden of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania, brother-in-law of the groom. The groomsmen were Michael Burns of Finksburg, Maryland, stepfather of the groom and Brandon Martinez of Sykesville, Maryland, friend of groom. The ring bearer was Tyler Kobylinski of Seven Valleys, Pennsylvania, cousin of the bride. A reception was held at The Best Western Westminster Catering and Conference Center in Westminster, Maryland following the ceremony. After a honeymoon in Williamsburg, Virginia, the newlyweds are residing in their home in Eldersburg, Maryland. Karen is a 2001 graduate of South Carroll High School and a 2007 graduate of Villa Julie College. She is a Baltimore County Public School Kindergarten teacher at Featherbed Lane Elementary School in Woodlawn. Eric is a 2000 graduate of Liberty High School and is a State of Maryland employee in the dietary area of Springfield Hospital Center in Sykesville.
