Baltimore County police have identified three Pennsylvania women who were killed early Monday in White Marsh when their car and a street sweeper collided and burst into flames.

Lori Ann Cardwell, 37, was driving her mother, Darlene Helen Cardwell, 62, and family friend Katarina Ann Morrison, 19, all of Media, Pa., home from a trip to Kentucky, according to police. The three women were traveling west on White Marsh Boulevard in a Chevrolet Aveo about 5 a.m. and tried to turn left onto Honeygo Boulevard when their car was struck by the street sweeper on the passenger side, police said.

The Aveo and the front of the street sweeper ignited, police said. The street sweeper driver, Ted McMillan, 32, escaped with minor injuries, police said.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
