Glimpsed At The Gallery At Harborplace

Cynthia Hunt claims she doesn't have a specific style. "I wear what feels right. I just put it on, and if I like it, I wear it." We certainly liked what she wore when we "glimpsed" the 48-year-old Elkins Park, Pa., resident as she was strolling through the Gallery at Harborplace with her husband and daughter. The Temple University nurse-anesthetist says she worries about dressing too young. But she has a secret weapon for that.

The look: Long black cotton knit empire waist Mon Ami dress. White cotton/linen blend cardigan with black stone embellishment. White leather Cole Haan small hobo bag. Black Kenneth Cole patent leather and black stone wedge sandals. Multi- strand turquoise necklace with matching earrings. Two white gold and diamond necklaces. Oscar de la Renta black sunglasses.

Where it came from: The dress was a Marshalls find. She bought the handbag, shoes and sunglasses at T.J. Maxx. The cardigan came from White House-Black Market. She had just purchased the turquoise necklace and earrings at Laila Rowe. Her other two necklaces were gifts from her husband.

Her shopping habits: "Lately, I've been cutting down. ... I shop at T.J. Maxx the most. Sometimes you can get designer names at less there. I don't like to part with my money. I like to get the most value at a discounted price."

It's about the fit: "I'm 5 feet 8 inches. Some designers, like Tahari, make pants long enough so that I can wear them with heels. Sometimes 7 [For All Mankind] Jeans are long enough, too."

What she wears most: "I like dresses. Most of the time, though, I'm in a pair of jeans and a top - usually blouses, very rarely a T-shirt. ... I wear black a lot. I wear white. And I like bright colors. ... The two necklaces that my husband gave me, I always wear."

It's all about the shoes: "If you have on a pair of jeans that are inexpensive, and a top that is inexpensive, but you have on a nice pair [of shoes], I think it sets off your outfit. ... I have lots of pairs of shoes - high-heeled shoes. ... They make you feel different when you walk in them. But, the shoes you caught me in were low because I was walking around in them."

Her fashion rules: "I never wear short pants. I'll do a shorter skirt, but not short pants. I don't like one-armed dresses. I don't like asymmetrical skirts. I like my jeans fitted. I don't like the skinny jeans."

Her fashion adviser: "My 15-year-old daughter, Briana, keeps me honest. To make sure I don't go too young, I just put on what I like. Then, my daughter gives me the once-over and says, 'OK, that looks right.' "
