A Carroll County teenager died Sunday night after she was struck by an alleged drunken driver while standing near a car outside her home, according to Maryland State Police. Katlynn E. Bossler, 15, of the 1100 block of Francis Scott Key Highway in Keymar was pronounced dead at Carroll Hospital Center after the crash, which was reported about 10:30 p.m. According to police, Kevin P. Annapolis man charged in assault with BB gun

A 21-year-old man was charged with first-degree assault and related counts after a BB gun pellet he fired - which he told police he intended for a squirrel - struck a man working in a yard next door, Annapolis police said. Police were called to the 200 block of Gross Ave. shortly after noon Saturday, when a 27-year-old worker told officers that he heard a popping noise and then felt pain in his chest. Police said Howard Daniel Alexander III, of the block where the victim was working, told officers that from the open sliding glass door of his kitchen, he fired his BB gun in the general direction of a squirrel on his home's rear deck. The victim was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center, where he was treated and released, according to hospital officials.
