Man loses control of car, dies in crash

A 33-year-old Carroll County man was killed early Sunday after he lost control of the car he was driving on a road in Finksburg and struck a tree. Police said Timothy Christopher Long, of the 5400 block of Mineral Hill Road in Sykesville, lost control of his 2006 Chevrolet Malibu while driving west on Deer Park Road about 1 a.m. Police said Long, the only person in the car, was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four people rescued from Westminster apartment fire

Four people were rescued from an early morning blaze in Westminster Sunday after fire tore through parts of a 12-unit apartment building. Two people were taken to Carroll Hospital Center with smoke inhalation, but no one was seriously injured. The 3 a.m. fire appears to have started in a second-floor apartment at the Greens of Westminster complex on Robins Way, said Robin Stansbury, the Westminster Fire Department's spokesman.

City police investigate man found dead in vacant home

Baltimore Police on Sunday found the body of a man on the porch of a vacant home. The discovery at 4009 Falls Road came around 12:30 p.m. Police have called the death "suspicious" and are investigating.

Two hospitalized after head-on collision in Woodlawn

Two people had to be cut from their car and taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center after a head-on collision in Woodlawn Sunday morning. Baltimore County police say it is still unclear exactly what happened near the intersection of Newcastle and Fairbrook roads around 7:45 a.m. The driver and passenger of one car were taken to Shock Trauma. Of those in the other car, one went to a local hospital and the other suffered no injuries, according to police.

Man's body found floating near Anne Arundel marina

An autopsy was set for today on the body of an unidentified man found floating in the water of a marina in Deale. The body was found about 4:15 p.m. Sunday at Shipwright Harbor Marina on Herring Bay Road, according to the Department of Natural Resources Police. The man, believed to be in his early 60s, was taken to the state medical examiner's office in Baltimore.
