Why Not Just Leave The Children Out Of All This?

Janet's World

I guess I'm wondering how Jon and Kate could possibly have come to the conclusion that continuing the series in the wake of their decision to split is OK. I'm not sure I can state this any plainer: I don't think there is any value to programming that documents children being pulled from the wreckage of automobile crashes. Nor is there any value to a program that drags them through the detritus of a failed marriage.

Maybe Jon and Kate Gosselin are simply worn out, in need of a little sensible parenting themselves. Well, I'd like to give it a try. Look, you two, if you can't see past your personal pain to do the right thing and pull the plug on your series and stop draining your integrity, then you ought to at least insist that the network leave your children out of it.

Go forward with the Jon and Kate show if you must - believe me, people will watch. There are plenty of folks out there who like nothing better than to see others fail. But try to shield those children who trust and love you both so wholly, fiercely and unconditionally.

Why not try spending a little time alone with your children - just the two of you? You just might remember, and recapture, that kind of trust and love.
