Pasadena man arrested in Glen Burnie store robberies
Anne Arundel County police have arrested a Pasadena man who they suspect robbed clerks earlier this month at two Glen Burnie stores. Edward Alvah Tharp, 49, of the 3500 block of Lochearn Court faces nine counts that include armed robbery and theft. He was jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail. Police suspect him in three robberies in which store clerks were ordered at knifepoint to give a robber cash: one at 4:20 a.m. June 6 at the 7-Eleven in the 700 block of Greenway S.E.; and two on June 9, one at 5:20 a.m. at the same store, and another at 6:30 p.m. a Hollywood Video store in the 7700 block of Ritchie Highway. A customer at the 7-Eleven recognized him June 13 in a police flier made from a security video there, police said.
