Spain set an international record with its 15th straight victory, a 2-0 win over host South Africa in Bloemfontein, that allowed the host nation to scrape into the Confederations Cup semifinals along with the European champion. Spain (3-0) finished first in Group A with six points, two ahead of South Africa (1-1-1). Iraq (0-1-2) was third with two points after a 0-0 tie with New Zealand (0-0-3). Semifinal opponents will be determined by the results in Group B today, when the United States (0-2) plays Egypt (1-1) and Brazil (2-0) plays world champion Italy (1-1).

Crystal Palace Baltimore: : Crystal Palace Baltimore won its second straight game Friday night, 2-1, over the Hogges at Bermuda's National Stadium. Pat Healey gave Palace the lead 22 minutes into the game, and Val Teixeira added a goal nine minutes into the second half. The Hogges scored in the 86th minute.

Beard, Langhorne lift Mystics past Sky, Toliver, 81-72
Alana Beard had 31 points and five assists to lead the host Washington Mystics to an 81-72 victory over the Chicago Sky. Crystal Langhorne (Maryland) had 14 points and six rebounds for the Mystics (4-1). Jia Perkins led the Sky (3-3) with 15 points, six rebounds and six assists. Kristi Toliver (Maryland) had 13 points for Chicago.
Indoor Football: : The South Carolina Force beat the Baltimore Mariners, 62-38, in Greenville, halting their four-game winning streak and ending their North Division title hopes. The Mariners (8-5) complete their regular season Saturday at 7 p.m. at 1st Mariner Arena and then will travel to Reading, Pa., to face the Express (10-3) in the first round of the American Indoor Football Association playoffs.
