Each Farmers' Market Has Its Own Character - This Guide To Some Of The Area's Largest Will Help You Plan Your Strategy

June 17, 2009|By Rob Kasper , rob.kasper@baltsun.com

Market-goers, who score on-street parking or head for a downtown garage, come in three waves. First come the stay-at-home parents with kids and retirees, then the business lunch crowd, then the stay-at-homers again. When it rains, the business crowd tends to steer clear of the market, which is unprotected from the elements.

"It's a good market when the sun's shining," said George Breidenbaugh of Breidenbaugh Farms in Glen Arm. "When it rains, you don't see the office people. You know how they are. They're all dressed up."
