Bodies of two women found in Waltherson
2
The bodies of two women were found early Wednesday evening in a house in the Waltherson neighborhood in Northeast Baltimore, and police were investigating their deaths as homicides, a police spokeswoman said. About 6 p.m., police received a 911 from an unidentified person saying that the bodies of two women were inside a two-story semidetached brick rowhouse in the 4000 block of Biddison Lane off the 5200 block of Belair Road, said Detective Nicole Monroe, the spokeswoman. She said when uniformed Northeastern District police entered the home a short time later, they discovered the bodies and that each showed signs of decomposition. Monroe declined to describe any wounds on the bodies, where in the house they were found or how long they had been dead. She did not know if the women were related. From the house, the bodies were taken to the state medical examiner's office for autopsies. Monroe said a gray or light-blue 2000 four-door Dodge Neon with Maryland tags 7DG E72 that was listed to the Biddison Lane address was missing. Metro Crime Stoppers at 410-276-8888 is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and an indictment in the slayings.

NWS confirms tornado touched down in Dundalk
3
After examining physical damage, reviewing weather instruments and taking statements from residents, the National Weather Service has determined that a tornado touched down in Dundalk during a violent storm Tuesday afternoon that damaged buildings and toppled trees over much of the Baltimore metro area. Steven Zubricks, an NWS science officer, said wind speed of a maximum of 70 mph during the storm that struck the southeast Baltimore County community shortly before 5:30 p.m. was consistent with an EF-0 rated tornado, the minimum rating. The storm caused more than 70,000 outages throughout the metro area, most of which have been restored. No injuries were reported.
Stockholm to be site of eighth state foreign office
Gov. Martin O'Malley announced Wednesday that Stockholm, Sweden, would be the site for Maryland's eighth foreign office. The Democratic governor is on a trade mission to Sweden after visiting Normandy, France, for the 65th anniversary of D-Day and then Bosnia and Herzegovina and Estonia on cultural exchanges. Maryland has overseas trade offices in India, Japan, Brazil, South Africa and other countries aimed at attracting companies and jobs to Maryland. They operate on a contingency basis, with no upfront expense to Maryland taxpayers, the governor's office said.
