Elkridge boy, 8, dies after scooter and minivan collide

An 8-year old Elkridge boy rode a motorized scooter into a minivan in the 6700 of Deep Run Parkway and was killed Saturday, Howard County police said. Police said the child, Vincent Anastasi, darted into traffic at 3:05 p.m. The child was taken to Howard County General Hospital and was pronounced dead. The driver was not injured.

Two in serious condition after Pulaski Street shooting

Two men shot about 9 a.m. Saturday in the 700 block of N. Pulaski St. were listed in serious condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center, according to Baltimore police spokesman Troy Harris. The victims have not been identified by police. The first was shot in the legs and the second in the stomach. The second man ran to the 700 block of N. Smallwood St., where he was found by police. Police knew of no motive or suspects.

Motorcycle rider killed in Rosedale

A 21-year-old motorcycle rider was killed Saturday afternoon at Chesaco Avenue and Weyburn Road when a car made a left turn in front of him, Baltimore County Police said. The victim, who was not identified by police, was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center after the 3 P.M. accident, where he died, police said.

Man's car found after Eastern Shore slaying

CRUMPTON - Police have found the car belonging to a Southern Maryland man accused of killing his wife, then telling police the couple had been carjacked. The car was found parked on a Washington street late Friday. Ryan D. Holness, 28, of the 4800 block of Spinnaker Court in Lexington Park, has been charged with first- and second-degree murder in the death of his wife, Serika Dunkley Holness, 26, of the same address, said state police spokesman Greg Shipley.

Body found floating in Chesapeake Bay

A body was found floating in Chesapeake Bay Saturday, but Sgt. Jonathan Green, a spokesman for Maryland Transportation Authority Police, said he was not allowed to provide further information about the incident, which is under investigation. Other police sources and radio transmissions indicated that the body was found about noon near Deale, in southern Anne Arundel County.
