Scott Dixon took advantage of the heavy Milwaukee Mile traffic to pass Ryan Briscoe and drive away to a victory in West Allis, Wis. The reigning IndyCar Series champion darted past Briscoe 25 laps from the end of the A.J. Foyt 225 and was not challenged the rest of the way, beating last year's race winner by nearly half the front straightaway on the one-mile oval. Dixon took the series points lead from Target Chip Ganassi teammate Dario Franchitti, who finished third. Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves finished two laps off the pace in 11th.

NHL: : Brett Hull and Les Jackson are out as co-general managers of the Dallas Stars, and in their place is another former star player, Joe Nieuwendyk. Nieuwendyk had been the special assistant to the general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs. In 1999, he won the Conn Smythe Award when Dallas won its first and only Stanley Cup title, the series-winning goal coming from Hull. Hull and Jackson spent the past 1 1/2 seasons in their joint venture running the front office.

College baseball: : Stephen Cardullo set a tournament record with seven hits, including three of Florida State's NCAA-record 15 doubles, as the host Seminoles routed Ohio State, 37-6, and advanced to the super regionals. Florida State (45-16) set NCAA postseason records with 37 runs, 38 hits and 66 total bases. ... Hours after losing the longest game in NCAA history, Boston College ended its season by losing, 4-3, to Army in the Austin, Texas, regional. On Saturday night, the Eagles lost, 3-2, in a 25-inning marathon against Texas.

MLS: : Steve Ralston's penalty kick in the 90th minute broke a tie and gave the host New England Revolution a 2-1 victory that ended D.C. United's seven-match unbeaten streak. Taylor Twellman (Maryland) earned the penalty kick for the Revolution as he was fouled by United defender Bryan Namoff.

Boxing: : Andre Berto retained his World Boxing Council welterweight title with a unanimous decision over Colombia's Juan Urango on Saturday night in Hollywood, Fla.
