Football and cheerleading
The Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks is accepting registrations for Elkridge Hurricanes flag and tackle football and cheerleading.
Flag football, for ages 5-6, is $85; tackle football, for ages 7-14, is $160; cheerleading, fir ages 5-14, is $125. Practice begins in August at Elkridge Landing Middle School, 7085 Montgomery Road.
Tackle football participants are placed on teams based on age and weight.

Coaches sought : The Ellicott City Patriots Youth Football and Cheer Program, for youngsters ages 5-14, is seeking volunteer coaches for the 2009 fall season.
