Class 3A-2A
NO. 9 HEREFORD (18-1)
VS. NO. 14 CENTENNIAL (15-3)
Time: 6 p.m.
Outlook: The defending state champ Bulls have won 15 straight games - including a 15-0 rout of Walkersville in the state semifinals - with aggressive and skilled play at both ends. The attack, led by Sean Konkolics, Rustin Bryant and Nick Pompa, has averaged more than 14 goals. Centennial has an equally impressive attack led by Harrison Chaires, Shane Jaeger and Greg Edmunds. Jaegerand Chaires accounted for 12 goals and three assists in the Eagles' 17-10 semifinal win over Easton. With both teams strong on offense, winning draws and scooping up ground balls will be vital.

NO. 11 SOUTH RIVER (17-1)
VS. URBANA (13-5)
Time: 8 p.m.
Outlook: The Anne Arundel County champion Seahawks are oozing with confidence and firmly believe this is their year. After losing to county rival Severna Park 17 straight games, the Seahawks beat their longtime nemesis in the regular season and then again to win the East regional. Matt Gregoire, Alex Carros and Drew Lee lead a precise attack, and Sam McKelvey anchors a strong defense in front of goalie Scott Marsh. Urbana has been a regular in the state tournament, winning six straight regional titles, but has yet to break through with a state championship. Matt Tarrant scored three first-half goals and goalie Frank Sapp came up big late as Urbana knocked off previously undefeated Wootton (17-1) in Friday's semifinal.

NO. 10 CENTURY (14-1)
VS. PATTERSON MILL (12-5)
Time: 4 p.m.
Outlook: Patterson Mill reached the state final in its first year as a varsity program, something the Knights did in 2003. The Knights didn't win that year but took the next three titles and now aim to add a fourth. The Huskies, who have no seniors on the roster, have four players with 35 or more points, led by Sydney Taylor (51 goals, 21 assists). The Knights boast a more prolific offense led by All-Metro midfielder Katie Schwarzmann (97, 30), who scored the game-winner on a buzzer-beating free-position shot to beat Liberty, 15-14, in the regional final, and Claire Brady (34, 54).
