Elizabeth B. Green, Office Manager

Elizabeth B. Green, a retired secretary and office manager, died May 4 of pneumonia at Gilchrist Center for Hospice Care. She was 83.

Elizabeth Belknap was born in Baltimore and raised on Beechdale Road in Roland Park. She was a 1944 graduate of Garrison Forest School.

Mrs. Green was employed as secretary and office manager for the Boy Scouts of America in Baltimore for 26 years. She retired in the early 1990s.

She was an active communicant of St. David's Episcopal Church where she had been a member of the Altar Guild and choir mother for the Boys' Choir.

Working with the St. David's vestry, she helped organize the dedication of the church's columbarium.

Mrs. Green, who lived in her girlhood home, enjoyed swimming, collecting antiques and was a needlepoint worker.

Her husband of 58 years, Richard H. Green, a retired Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Co. sales executive, died in 2004.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at her church, 4700 Roland Ave.

Surviving are her four sons, Richard M. "Rick" Green of Royal Oak, Robert B. Green of Baltimore, Christopher B. Green of White Hall and Stephen M. Green of Washington; and 11 grandchildren.
