Participants can enjoy a 1K, 3K or 5K walk through the park. Pets are welcome. Activities for children, raffles and pet contests are planned. Teams formed by local groups, businesses, families or friends are welcome to participate. Night Out : Korean Girls' Night Out, a free event designed to educate Korean-American women about breast health, will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. May 17 at the Palace (Goong Jeon) Restaurant, 202 Crain Highway North, Glen Burnie.

After a brief presentation in Korean on women's breast health, those who attend can talk with health care professionals and enjoy dinner, exhibits and door prizes. Anne Arundel County women 40 and older can register by calling 410-222-4415.

Free cancer screening : The Anne Arundel County Health Department provides free cervical cancer screening to county women 40 and older who are income-eligible and who have no health insurance or whose health insurance does not pay for pap tests. Pap tests provide detection of cervical cancer at an early stage, when it is highly curable. 410-222-6180.

Spanish-language line : A Spanish-speaking operator will answer calls to the Aprenda a Vivir Spanish Language Line of the Anne Arundel County Health Department 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Thursdays (410-222-4479). Callers can leave messages at other times. Information about community health services and free Spanish-language informational materials are available.

A Healthy Eating Kit, with tips on nutrition and Hispanic recipes, and a Quit Smoking Kit, with a step-by-step guide, Cambie un Habito, to stop smoking permanently, will be available. Cambie un Habito can be downloaded from the Health Department's Spanish-language Web site, aasalud.org. Click "Aprenda a Vivir" on the navigation bar, and then click on "Dejar de Fumar." A Breast and Cervical Cancer Kit, with information on prevention and treatment, is also available.
