Play It Again

Nonstarters

With the loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday, the Orioles' rotation again failed to notch a win. After winning five of the team's first seven games, Orioles starters have won just two of 14 and have been charged with seven losses. Tuesday's starter, Adam Eaton, picked up his third loss of the season. He was the last Orioles starter to win a game, a 6-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox on April 23.

Trembley ejected

Dave Trembley was ejected for the first time this season and the seventh time in his big league career in the top of the seventh. Angels designated hitter Maicer Izturis attempted to steal second, but Jamie Walker picked him off. Plate umpire Angel Hernandez, however, called a balk, negating the out. Trembley came out to argue, headed toward the dugout and then returned to home plate to scream at Hernandez some more. He was promptly tossed, receiving a standing ovation from the announced crowd of 11,857. Bench coach Dave Jauss acted as manager for the final three innings.

On deck

The Orioles conclude their nine-game homestand Wednesday at 12:35 p.m. Koji Uehara (2-1, 4.56 ERA) makes his fifth start as an Oriole. The Angels will counter with Shane Loux (0-2, 6.61 ERA).
