Play It Again

As part of his unraveling in the third inning, Rangers starting pitcher Vicente Padilla balked in a run with two outs. Aubrey Huff, who had just doubled in two runs, scored to give the Orioles a 3-1 lead.

Two pitches after Padilla nearly beaned Brian Roberts with a high fastball, Roberts drove his first home run of the season onto the flag court in right field.

After Roberts homered in the fifth inning, the Orioles loaded the bases with one out. Ty Wigginton and Luke Scott flied out, letting Padilla off the hook and leaving the game within reach at 4-1.

The Orioles will host the second of four games against the Rangers at 7:05 p.m Saturday. They will face right-hander Scott Feldman. He is filling in for ex-Oriole Kris Benson, who went on the disabled list this week with tendinitis in his right elbow. Feldman has a 5.16 career ERA and has already allowed three runs in 2 2/3 innings against the Orioles this season.
