Oscar-winning British cinematographer

Jack Cardiff, an Oscar-winning British cinematographer who was one of the first to shoot in Technicolor, died Wednesday at his home in southeast England after a short illness. Mr. Cardiff won an Academy Award for the film Black Narcissus.

MALCOLM CARL WELLS SR., 60

Helped expand Mississippi blues festival

Malcolm Carl Walls Sr., credited with helping expand the Mississippi Delta Blues and Heritage Festival, died Monday. The festival draws thousands of blues fans each year.
