No. 8 Loyola Rallies For 10-8 Baseball Win Over No. 6 Spalding

Dons Score Four In Fifth, Five More In Sixth

The eighth-ranked Loyola baseball team fell behind early but came back from a five-run deficit to defeat No. 6 Archbishop Spalding, 10-8.

Harry Slade and Drew Hoppes drove in three runs each to spark the rally for the host Dons (13-4), who scored four runs in the fifth to tie the score and five runs in the sixth to take the lead.

Ryan Cullen also had a big game for the Dons, going 3-for-3 with three steals and three runs scored.

Austin Neary had three hits, including a home run, and drove in six runs for Spalding (18-4).

Boys lacrosse

NO. 3 ST. MARY'S 10, NO. 6 ST. PAUL'S 7:: Scott Hopmann scored four goals and Mark McNeil added three as the Saints (9-1) defeated the host Crusaders (10-4).

NO. 4 BOYS' LATIN 8, NO. 9 MCDONOGH 7:: After trailing 8-5 in the second half, the Eagles (8-5) climbed back within one before having a shot bounce off the post as time expired. The Lakers' (10-2) Christian Walsh and Patrick Foster led all scorers with three goals each.

NO. 14 GLENELG 16, HOWARD 2:: Zack Wynne scored five goals and had one assist as the Gladiators (7-2) made short work of the Lions.

JOHN CARROLL 8, CURLEY 6:: Seven players scored for the Patriots (6-1) in their win over the visiting Friars (5-2). Brendon Dashiell had two goals to lead John Carroll, and Colin Rayburn had 12 saves.

EDMONDSON 7, DUNBAR 6, OT:: Durrius Douglas had four goals, including the game-winner in overtime, as the Red Storm (6-0) came from behind to defeat the visiting Poets.

BROADNECK 11, NORTHEAST 7:: Five goals by James Mullis and three from Phil White paced the Bruins in their victory over the host Eagles.

Girls lacrosse

GARRISON FOREST 12, NO. 5 BRYN MAWR 11:: The visiting Grizzlies outscored the Mawrtians (7-4) 8-4 in the second half, as four goals from Ana Henrich helped pull off the upset.

NO. 8 MT. HEBRON 22, RESERVOIR 4:: The Vikings (8-2) defeated the visiting Gators behind strong efforts from Ashley Bruns (seven goals, six assists) and Julianne Giles (six goals).

Softball

ARUNDEL 3, NORTHEAST 1:: Kayla Martinez held the opposition to three hits, and her two-run single in the top of the eighth inning propelled the Wildcats (8-1) over the host Eagles.
