No. 2 Calvert Hall Overcomes Slow Start To Top No. 9 Mcdonogh, 6-2

A slow start wasn't enough to doom No. 2 Calvert Hall in its lacrosse game against No. 9 McDonogh on Tuesday.

Down by a goal at the half, the Cardinals (7-1) reeled off five goals in a row while shutting out the host Eagles (8-3) to earn a 6-2 win.

Patrick Fanshaw started the comeback with a goal late in the third period off an assist by Jason McFadden to tie the score at 2. Patrick Coyle followed with a goal with less than six minutes left to give Calvert Hall the lead. Fanshaw scored again to make it 4-2, and goalie Greg Dutton made the lead stand up with 11 saves.

NO. 1 GILMAN 11, NO. 11 SEVERN 7:: The Greyhounds raced to a 7-0 halftime lead in their win over the host Admirals.

LONG REACH 15, MOUNT HEBRON 12:: Tyler Burrage, Drew Hammer and Ryan Charnock each scored four goals as the Lightning (2-6) pulled away in the fourth period to defeat the host Vikings (1-6).

NO. 1 MCDONOGH 19, GARRISON FOREST 6:: Twelve players scored for the Eagles (8-1) in their win over the host Grizzlies (3-3).

NO. 2 SEVERNA PARK 19, SOUTHERN 2:: The Falcons (7-0) defeated the visiting Bulldogs to remain undefeated.
