What Gibson's wife wants: a divorce

Court records show Mel Gibson's wife has filed for divorce after 28 years of marriage. Robyn Gibson filed the petition in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences. She has suggested joint custody for their only minor child.

Spector found guilty

Music producer Phil Spector was convicted Monday in Los Angeles of second-degree murder in the shooting death of a film actress at his mansion six years ago.

Lana Clarkson, 40, died of a gunshot fired in her mouth as she sat in the foyer of Spector's mansion in 2003.

Sondheim finalists

Six finalists have been named for the Janet & Walter Sondheim Artscape Prize, an annual award that includes $25,000 to support a local artist or arts group in the Baltimore area.

According to Mayor Sheila Dixon and the Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts, which organizes the competition, this year's finalists are: Leslie Furlong, photography and video art; Ryan Hackett, installation and multimedia art; Jessie Lehson, installation art and sculpture; Molly Springfield, works on paper; Karen Yasinsky, animation and drawing; and the Baltimore Development Cooperative, which creates "community based process art" and whose "core members" are Scott Berzofsky, Dane Nester and Nicholas Wisniewski.

A winner will be announced July 11.
