Men's lacrosse: : St. Mary's Chris Becraft scored unassisted with two seconds left to lift the host Seahawks past No. 5 Salisbury, 11-10. It was the first win for St. Mary's (7-5, 5-2 Capital Athletic Conference) against the Sea Gulls (11-3, 5-2) since 1977. ... Richie Ford had four goals and two assists, and 15 other players scored for No. 1 Stevenson (13-0, 7-0 CAC) in its 26-1 win over visiting Hood (1-13, 0-7).

Women's lacrosse: : Lauren McAfee and Jacie Kendall scored in overtime as Towson (7-5, 1-2 Colonial Athletic Association) won, 13-11, over host Hofstra (8-4, 2-1).

Horse racing: : Ernie Paragallo, 51, a prominent thoroughbred breeder who once owned 1996 Kentucky Derby favorite Unbridled's Song, was charged with 22 counts of cruelty to animals, two days after authorities seized 177 malnourished horses at his Hudson Valley farm. ...
