'South Park' gets West to wake up

South Park may have accomplished the impossible - getting Kanye West to check his ego.

The Comedy Central cartoon skewered the rapper Wednesday. West responded Thursday on his blog, saying that the show was funny but that it also hurt his feelings and has helped him realize that maybe he needs to stop saying how great he is.

West wrote in typical all-caps: "I JUST WANT TO BE A DOPER PERSON WHICH STARTS WITH ME NOT ALWAYS TELLING PEOPLE HOW DOPE I THINK I AM."

Holmes to be in D.C.

Katie Holmes is headed back to the stage for the National Memorial Day Concert on May 24 on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol.

The show, a salute to U.S. service members, will be broadcast live on PBS.

The post office wants folks to vote for their favorite Simpson among the five new stamps honoring the dysfunctional family.

The stamps are on display at usps.com/simpsons; votes can be cast at the Web site until May 14. Stamps will be issued May 7.
