WALTER ODEL GRAY Passed away on March 31, 2009 at the Baltimore Rehabilitation and Extended Care Center. He was born in Nansemond, Virginia and raised in Newport News, Virginia. He enlisted in the United States Army and served two tours of duty. After retiring, he worked diligently as a volunteer at the National Aquarium and at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum as a docent. He leaves to mourn, his father Walter Gray of Baltimore, MD, his mother Violette Johnson of Newport News, VA, four children Mrs. Shasta Kornegay, Ms. Zhasta Mosley, Mrs. Ruthella Lievers and Mrs. Orthella Butler, two sons-in-law Pastor Ernest Lievers and Dr. Stewart Butler, all of Baltimore, MD., one brother Haywood Gray of Newport News, VA. He is also survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends and relatives April 6, 2009 at the Vaughn C. Greene Funeral Services, P.A., 4905 York Road, Baltimore, MD 21212 4 to 8 P.M. for viewing. Funeral services will be held at Strawbridge United Methodist Church, 1624 Park Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21217 April 7, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. Interment at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Walter Gray, Jr. Memorial Fund at Strawbridge United Methodist Church.
