Home utilities co-op

In partnership with CQI Associates of Maryland, the Howard County Chamber of Commerce has developed a residential energy cooperative for employees of chamber members to purchase residential electricity or natural gas at discounted rates.

The program is designed to help businesses maintain competitive benefits for their employees without negatively impacting their bottom line.

The energy co-op is available to residential accounts in the BGE, Pepco and Delmarva Power service areas. Employees who do not live in Howard County can participate.

In 2006, the chamber partnered with CQI Associates to offer a commercial energy purchasing co-op.

Columbia-based CQI provides consulting services for public and private clients interested in optimizing energy resources, reducing environmental liability and improving facilities management.
