Events planned at Columbia library
The east Columbia branch library, 6600 Cradlerock Way, will be the venue for the Civil Law Self-Help Center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. April 1 and 15. The center is open twice a month to provide free legal assistance to self-represented litigants in Howard County. Walk-ins are welcomed.

The East Columbia Chess Club, with instruction by experienced players (including a chess master) meets at 3:30 p.m. April 2 and 16. Players of all ages and experience are welcome. Registration is not necessary.
Classical guitarist Stephan Tunstall will perform at the library at 6 p.m. April 19.
"This is Your Life: Preservation," a program on creating and preserving family memories, led by an archivist and a scrapbooking expert, is planned for 7 p.m. April 21.

Art exhibition
The Columbia Art Center Window Gallery is presenting paintings by Ray Yosuico through April 5.
Gallery hours are 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The art center is at 6100 Foreland Garth.

Spring concert
Celebrating spring, Voices XXI, a select ensemble for the 21st century, will present a program of choral settings of love poetry at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Christ Episcopal Church, 6800 Oakland Mills Road.

Prenatal class
A prenatal breast-feeding class will be offered from 3:30 p.m. to 4:40 p.m. April 18 at the east Columbia branch library meeting room, 6600 Cradlerock Way.
