'Women Making History' tour

The Maryland Women's Heritage Center and the City of Annapolis will hold a "Women Making History Together" trolley tour from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday starting and ending at Annapolis City Hall, 160 Duke of Gloucester St.

Mayor Ellen O. Moyer will greet the guests. The tour will visit sites showcasing the contributions of Maryland women, including the Annapolis Maritime Museum, Levy Center at the U.S. Naval Academy, Banneker-Douglass Museum, Catherine Green House and St. Clair Wright Center.

The cost is $40 and includes museum and site admissions, transportation and gourmet lunch at the Treaty of Paris Restaurant. To register, visit Information: 410-767-0428.

Maryland Day

The City of Annapolis has announced that all its offices will be closed Wednesday for Maryland Day. Residents who have a public works emergency should call the water plant at 410-224-2140.

Patapsco bike ride

The Friends of the Patapsco Valley and Heritage Greenway will hold a bike ride at noon Saturday from Ellicott City to the BWI Trail near Hanover and back.

Bikers will use the new Patapsco Heritage Trail Map, and have time for bathroom breaks and water filling. The Heritage Trail meets BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport/B&A Regional Trail System at the BWI train station. The regional trail system connects to the two national trails, East Coast Greenway and the American Discovery Trail, which intersect in Annapolis.
