Lewis Clinch scored a career-high 32 points yesterday and last-place Georgia Tech (12-18) pulled off the first upset of the ACC tournament, beating No. 17 Clemson (23-8), 86-81, in the opening round yesterday in Atlanta.

Virginia Tech 65, Miami 47: : The Hokies broke open a close game with a 14-0 run in the second half and beat the Hurricanes. Miami's Jack McClinton (Calvert Hall), who scored a season-low nine points, said, "I just had a bad game."

Boston College 76, Virginia 63: : Rakim Sanders scored 25 points and the Eagles (22-10) built a 37-25 halftime lead and coasted the rest of the way. Virginia finished the season 10-18, its worst record since a 9-17 mark in 1966-67.

Big East quarterfinals: : Freshman Devin Ebanks scored a career-high 20 points to lead scrappy West Virginia (23-10) to a 74-60 upset of No. 2 Pittsburgh (27-4) at Madison Square Garden in New York. ...
