OUTLOOK: Nine wrestlers enter the tournament undefeated. Among them is Owings Mills' Avi Friedman (30-0), who wrestles in what might be the state's toughest weight class, 112. Also in Friedman's 2A-1A weight class are Francis Scott Key's Shawn Eyler (31-0) and River Hill's Scott Mantua (43-1), who is going for his third state title. Other area wrestlers competing this weekend with just one loss include Centennial freshman Nathan Kraisser at 103, Catonsville's Tyler Weedon at 189, Mervo's Lance McCoy at 140, C. Milton Wright's Kevin O'Brien at 135 and Dulaney's Brandon Phillips at 171. River Hill, with 12 qualifiers in 2A-1A, will battle it out with Owings Mills (11) and Southern-Garrett (eight), while Old Mill (eight) and La Plata of Charles County (11) will probably battle for the team title in 4A-3A.
