Summers leads Hoyas past No. 10 Villanova

DaJuan Summers (McDonogh) scored 16 points and Chris Wright had 13, including a crucial driving layup with 47 seconds left, to lead visiting Georgetown to a 56-54 victory over No. 10 Villanova yesterday.

Georgetown (15-12, 6-10 Big East) forced the Wildcats into a season-high 20 turnovers and season lows in points, field goals (15) and field-goal percentage (.333).

Dante Cunningham had 13 points to pace Villanova (23-6, 11-5) in a game played before a sellout of 20,378 at the Wachovia Center.

No. 1 Pittsburgh 89, Seton Hall 78:: Sam Young had 29 points and 10 rebounds, and the visiting Panthers (26-3, 13-3 Big East) bounced back from their loss to Providence with a victory over the Pirates (15-13, 6-10).

No. 2 Connecticut 72, Notre Dame 65:: Jeff Adrien had 25 points and nine rebounds, and the host Huskies (27-2, 15-2 Big East) held off the Irish (16-12, 7-9).

No. 3 Oklahoma 78, Texas Tech 63:: Blake Griffin scored 20 points and grabbed 19 rebounds in his first game back from a concussion, leading the visiting Sooners (26-3, 12-2 Big 12) past the Red Raiders (12-16, 2-12) to end a two-game skid.

No. 5 Memphis 58, Southern Mississippi 42:: Robert Dozier had 18 points and seven rebounds, and the host Tigers (26-3, 14-0 Conference USA) extended the nation's longest winning streak to 20 games with a victory over the Golden Eagles (14-14, 4-10).

Washington State 51, No. 14 Arizona State 49, OT:: Taylor Rochestie's long three-pointer with 2.3 seconds left in overtime lifted the host Cougars (16-13, 8-9 Pacific-10) to an upset of the Sun Devils (21-7, 10-6).

No. 16 Purdue 75, Ohio State 50: : Robbie Hummel scored 17 points and the host Boilermakers (22-7, 11-5 Big Ten) defeated the Buckeyes (18-9, 8-8).

No. 17 Gonzaga 58, San Diego 47:: Matt Bouldin scored 15 points to lead the visiting Zags (23-5, 14-0) to a win over the Bulldogs (15-15, 6-8) and an undefeated season in the West Coast Conference.

No. 18 LSU 73, Kentucky 70: : Tasmin Mitchell scored 21 - including the game-winning three-pointer with 9.8 seconds remaining - to lead the visiting Tigers (25-4, 13-1) past the Wildcats (19-10, 8-6) and give LSU the Southeastern Conference regular-season title.

No. 21 Washington 83, Arizona 78: : Jon Brockman scored 14 of his 19 points in the second half and the Huskies (22-7, 13-4) clinched at least a tie for the Pacific-10 regular-season championship by rallying past the visiting Wildcats (18-11, 8-8).
