NASCAR:: The Busch brothers claimed the front row at their hometown Las Vegas Motor Speedway, but an engine change will prevent Kyle and Kurt Busch from starting next to each other for tomorrow's Sprint Cup Shelby 427. Kyle Busch blew his motor during yesterday's practice session, forcing him to change it before qualifying. The new engine helped him post a pole-winning lap of 185.995 mph. That was better than older brother Kurt's lap of 185.707. But Kyle Busch will have to drop to the back of the field at the start of the race, and third-place qualifier Jimmie Johnson will slide into the front row.

Golf: : Rory McIlroy did his part to put some excitement back into the Accenture Match Play Championship in Marana, Ariz., advancing to the quarterfinals by crushing the player who knocked out Tiger Woods. McIlroy, 19, from Northern Ireland, beat Tim Clark of South Africa, 4 and 3.

Colleges: : Star basketball forward Blake Griffin (concussion) was cleared to return for No. 3 Oklahoma against Texas Tech today. ... Cornell sophomore Mack Lewnes (Mount St. Joseph), 31-0 this season at 165 pounds, was named the Ivy League's Wrestler of the Year.

Soccer: : Because of likely inclement weather tomorrow, the Maryland men's exhibition match against D.C. United was postponed until 6 p.m. Tuesday at Ludwig Field.
