Host Loyola scored the first eight goals and went on to beat UMBC, 21-6, yesterday at Diane Geppi-Aikens Field.

Grace Gavin scored a game-high four goals for Loyola (2-1). Abby Rehfuss and Colleen O'Keefe added three each.

Meg Taylor took a pass from Gavin, scoring the game's first goal 39 seconds into the game. Loyola's defense held UMBC to eight shots in each half and forced 20 turnovers.

Amanda Pappas (Chesapeake-AA) led the Retrievers (1-2) with two goals.

No. 9 Georgetown 11, Johns Hopkins 7: : The visiting Hoyas (2-0) used a 4-0 run to start the second half and push a three-goal lead to seven over the Blue Jays (1-1).

Georgetown's Molly Ford led all scorers with five goals. Brianna Cronin and Cami Kramer led Hopkins with two goals each.

Frostburg State 8, Bridgewater (Va.) 3: : Elisabeth Hildebrand had a hat trick to power the host Bobcats (1-0) past the Eagles (0-1). Hildebrand has scored in 18 of 19 games dating to her freshman season. Mary Robinson had Bridgewater's goals.

Stevenson 17, York 9: : Lisa Baker scored six goals as the host Mustangs (2-0, 2-0 Capital Athletic) beat the Spartans (0-2, 0-1). Stevenson took a 3-0 lead after six minutes of play. It started the second half with a 5-0 run.

Salisbury 23, Virginia Wesleyan 6: : Kim Cudmore and Tirsh DiGirolomo scored four goals each to power the host Sea Gulls (3-0) past the Blue Marlins (0-1).

Men

Washington College 11, Kean 6: : The host Shoremen (1-0) took a 5-0 lead after the first quarter and Matt Moreton finished with a hat trick.

Salisbury 18, Wesley 5: : Kylor Berkman and Matt Cannone each scored five goals to keep the host Sea Gulls (3-0, 1-0 Capital Athletic) perfect.

Salisbury's defense held the Wolverines (0-1, 0-1) to a goal per quarter from the second quarter on.
